Since we started our adventure with Italia Sweet Italia we have always shared our passion for Abruzzo and tried to instill it in our guests. That is why one of the things we valued the most is their opinion about the trip. We love to think they will go back to their hometown with a piece of our region: not only postcards, magnets or books, but an experience they will remember (and maybe make them come back!).
We decided to collect some of them to make everyone live what they saw and felt through their own words.
This history starts from a desire to seek a different vacation from the usual, because Pam, living in the USA, after seeing other regions of Italy, had the curiosity to discover places outside the classic tours offered, for total immersion in Abruzzo’s culture.
She visited Abruzzo in May 2019 with her sister, to enjoy an experience with Italia Sweet Italia, sucha as our Cultural, Culinary & Truffle Hunting Experience in Abruzzo.
Why did you choose Abruzzo and Italia Sweet Italia for your holidays? Did you find what you were looking for?
We are Italian and we have been to Italy before and we wanted a different type of vacation. We chose Italia Sweet Italia because of what it offered. My sister wanted to learn how to make pizza round, and I love truffles. My sister is vegetarian and Fabrizio took special care to made sure the meals included foods for her to enjoy.
Yes, the trip far exceeded our expectations so much so that we want to move to Italy, we make homemade pasta weekly after learning from Fabrizio’s mom and we also make homemade pizza weekly as well.

When did you visit Abruzzo?
Our experience was in May 2019.
What specific activities did you enjoy most on your trip?
We loved all the activities Fabrizio proposed and all the places we visited.
How would you define the Abruzzese cuisine? What is your favorite dish you tasted or prepared over there?
We loved all the food we had on the trip. The most memorable was dinner at Fabrizio’s family’s home after learning how to make pasta.
What is the funniest moment of your vacation?
Truffle hunting was amazing.
Is there a favorite image or memory that stays in your mind? Can you describe the moment and the emotions that you felt at the time?
The trip was unforgettable.
Did you feel safe all the time?
Extremely safe.
Do you think there is anything that should be improved or changed?
Not a thing.
Would you recommend coming to Abruzzo and do you have any advice for future travelers?
Go as soon as you can!

I would like to know if this would be a suitable trip for myself & my 17 yr old daughter. I am interested in June 2024. Is the price per person & includes hotel & food except for times of being on our own?
