Travelers stories: Della and her experience in Abruzzo

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Since we started our adventure with Italia Sweet Italia we have always shared our passion for Abruzzo and tried to instill it in our guests. That is why one of the things we valued the most is their opinion about the trip. We love to think they will go back to their hometown with a piece of our region: not only postcards, magnets or books, but an experience they will remember (and maybe make them come back!).

We decided to collect some of them to make everyone live what they saw and felt through their own words.

This history starts from a desire to seek a different vacation from the usual, because Della, living in the USA, had the curiosity to discover places outside the classic tours offered, for total immersion in Abruzzo’s culture.

She visited Abruzzo in 2016, to enjoy an experience with Italia Sweet Italia, sucha as our  Cultural, Culinary & Truffle Hunting Experience in Abruzzo.

Hello Fabrizio! The vacation featuring above also included myself, and my partner Tim Nelson! It was our first and really wonderful vacation together. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. We look back on our experience with heartfelt nostalgia. You are an outstanding ambassador for the treasures of Abruzzo. One of the memories that delights me is when you told us we were going to meet a typical housewife at the market. Then when we got there, it was your Mama! She is lovable and her gastronomic gifts are abundant. The pizza we all made together was the best I have ever had in my life! We also tremendously enjoyed the AgroTurismo visit, making bread and ricotta, and eating fantastic ravioli and salami. The excursion to the trabocco is unique in the world, and the seafood lunch there was delicious! I was especially surprised, and very much appreciated the beauty and historical charm of Vasto, with it’s lovely restaurants and the spectacular view of the coastline below. Your pride in your family and your homeland is what made our time together special. All the best to you all, Jan (& Tim)
